The Florida Security Council is an action-oriented educational organization developed by Floridians who understand the extreme seriousness of the various security threats facing both our Nation and our State.

Though some Americans are aware of the war declared against America by militant, radical, supremest, muslims, few realize the dangers presented by Latin American totalitarianism, and the insidious possibility of these two groups joining together.

The Florida Security Council is a state-based organization that assists the general public in properly preparing for and responding to these clear and present dangers.

Moreover, the Florida Security Council will enable interested citizens and organizations to network together thereby maximizing resources resulting in a more efficient state-wide impact on security issues.

Our primary mission is to strengthen Florida’s security through issue research, public policy education and grassroots activism.

How We Help You

Our Security Briefings are power-packed educational presentations designed to introduce all groups to the sinister dangers of radical Islamism.

Through insightful documentaries, expert panelists and engaging discussion, our Briefings leave participants well-informed and motivated for action. Briefings are typically two-hour presentations.

Tom Trento, Executive Director

Tom Trento is a man on a mission. But his mission field is not limited by geography; he is on a worldwide mission to alert the public about the growing threat of radical Islamic terrorism.

A dynamic speaker, Trento travels the world exposing the deadly intentions of terrorists bent on destroying Western culture.

With degrees in Law Enforcement, Theology and Philosophy, Trento is perfectly equipped to expertly communicate the menace of terrorism. Trento also has extensive professional involvement in grassroots organizing, management, advertising, political action, education, with emphasis in public communication including print, video, TV and radio. Due to his background and experience, Tom likes to stay on offense, challenging any and all Islamists to public debates in any setting. To date, there have been few who have stepped up to Tom's challenge.

Tom is firm believer in using powerful media like hard-hitting documentaries that deal with totalitarian Islam. Tom works closely with several film makers and was involved with the promotion and distribution of 28 million copies of the award-winning Obsession, Radical Islam's War Against the West.

In 2009 Tom will use and promote and many media projects including: Obsession, Third Jihad, Homegrown Jihad ,and Fitna.

Director of the Florida Security Council, Inc., an organization specializing in international terrorism research, Trento travels nationally as a public speaker specializing in formal debates at hostile settings that include universities, radio and TV.

Dr. Richard M. Swier, Director

Dr. Richard M. Swier, Ed. D., LTC, US Army (Ret.)

Richard holds a Doctorate of Education from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, a Master's Degree in Management Information Systems from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Washington University, St. Louis, MO.

Richard is a 23-year Army veteran who retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1990. He was awarded the Legion of Merit for his years of service. Additionally, he was awarded the Bronze Star with V for Heroism in ground combat, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry while serving with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He is a graduate of the Field Artillery Officers Basic and Advanced Courses, and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

Richard was the Founder/CEO of Sarasota Online, a high technology company that was sold to Comcast Cable in 1996. He helped start Backsoft Corporation an enterprise software development company in 1997 whose clients included Coca-Cola, Anheuser- Busch, Hyundai Electronics, Volkswagen, Moen and Goodyear. Backsoft was sold in 2001.

Richard twice chaired the Sarasota Better Business Council and sat on the Board of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and on the Sponsorship Advisory Committee to the Sarasota County School Board.

He is President of the Sarasota County Veterans Commission, an honorary member of the BRAIVE Fund, and has been elected Chairman of the Sarasota National Cemetery Advisory Committee.
